Wine Review: This pitch black colored Gamay from Fleurie opens with a black cherry and red plum bouquet with a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and a bit rustic. The flavor profile is a stewed plum and oolong tea blend with notes of minerality and tart black cherry. The finish is dry and its tannins are dusty and sticky. This Beaujolais would be ideal with a hearty meal. I would decant it in its youth for a little aeration and serve it with a campfire beef stew. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Clos des Quatre Vents is a bright garnet color. Fresh aromas of black fruits, cherry stone, mild spices permeate the nose, while the same fruits and spices are ripe and fresh on the palate, with silky tannins. Well-paired with tarragon chicken, oven-roasted salmon, lamb or beef, spicy dishes and aged cheeses.
