Wine Review: This pale straw colored Riesling opens with a flint stone and white peach bouquet with hints of ginger and lime zest. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with zesty plus acidity. The mouthfeel is lively, bright, pleasantly sweet, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a lemon and white tea blend with notes of saline, white pepper, and white peach. I also detected hints of stony minerality and ginger. The finish is off-dry and its flavors and acidity show very nice length. I would pair this Riesling with pan-seared scallops with lemon butter. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A bracing and forceful Riesling from fully ripe grapes grown in the iron-rich, red slate soil of the "little staircase" vineyard. The iron-infused, red slate soil produces wines that are muscular and complex, with an intense mineral finish. The Spätlese designation means that the grapes get an extra week or two of hang time, which helps them develop higher ripeness and deeper flavors.
